Bucket Getters & Paint Protectors: Two Alberta Talents to Watch
Alberta basketball continues to produce high-level talent, and Bella Ford and Kiarra Davis are two prospects worth watching. Both players currently compete together at One Prep, where they prepare for an important season ahead. With a big year coming up for both in the recruiting process, Bella and Kiarra will be two names to keep an eye on as they continue to develop and work toward the next level.
Bella Ford | Class of 2027 | 5’8 Guard
Bella is an elite scorer with the ability to create her own shot whenever her team needs a bucket. She has a smooth shot off the dribble and does a great job creating space for herself to get clean looks. Her quickness and ability to attack downhill make her especially dangerous in transition, where she can turn defensive stops into easy scoring opportunities.
Defensively, she brings relentless ball pressure and takes pride in making life difficult for opposing guards. Her quick hands and ability to stay in front of her matchup allow her to disrupt passing lanes, force difficult decisions, and create opportunities for her team on the other end.
Her two-way ability has helped establish her as one of Western Canada’s top guards, with growing interest from JUCO, NCAA Division II, and U SPORTS programs.
Kiarra Davis | Class of 2028 | 6’2 Center/Forward
Kiarra brings an impressive combination of length, touch, and offensive versatility. She can operate anywhere inside the arc, whether creating in the mid-range, attacking the basket, or working from the high post. Her ability to stretch defences makes her a difficult matchup against both man-to-man and zone coverage.
Defensively, Davis uses her length and timing to protect the paint and anchor her team's defence. As a center, she also understands the importance of being vocal and communicating with her teammates, something she has continued to improve on throughout her development. Her ability to lead defensively and keep her teammates organized makes her an important presence on the floor.
Her versatility and ability to impact both ends of the floor have generated interest from ACAC, U SPORTS, and JUCO programs as she continues to develop and establish herself as a prospect at the next level.
Getting to Know the Players
Beyond their on-court abilities, I wanted to get a better understanding of both players, their mindsets, and what they hope to accomplish this season.

Looking Ahead
With Bella’s scoring ability and perimeter defence. Alongside Davis’ interior versatility, rim protection, and defensive presence. Both players bring valuable qualities to the floor. As Bella continues to build her recruiting profile and Kiarra begins a new chapter with One Prep, these are two Alberta prospects worth keeping an eye on.
