Elliott Beverly (2027): The Atlantic Canadian Sharpshooter to Watch
Elliott Beverly (2027) is a 6’3 guard out of Rothesay Netherwood School and one of Atlantic Canada’s top perimeter shooting prospects. As he enters his final high school season, Beverly brings a valuable skill set that could make him an intriguing addition to a university program.
Beverly’s greatest strength is his shooting ability. He’s a dangerous threat from beyond the arc, capable of knocking down shots off the catch and while moving without the ball. He does an excellent job finding open space, relocating around the perimeter, and putting himself in positions to score. His ability to get hot quickly and knock down shots in bunches makes him a difficult player for opposing defences to leave open.
During the 2025–26 season, Beverly shot 34% from beyond the arc on five attempts per game across 10 recorded games and through his first four games of the 2026–27 season, he’s shooting 44% on over six attempts per game. While it’s still early in the season, the increase in both his shooting percentage and volume is an encouraging sign.
One of the most valuable aspects of Beverly’s game is that he doesn’t need the ball in his hands to make an impact. He’s an effective off ball player who understands how to move within an offence. His shooting ability forces defenders to stay attached to him around the perimeter, creating more space for his teammates to attack. Even when he isn’t directly involved in a possession, his presence can make it more difficult for opposing teams to provide help defence without leaving a dangerous shooter open.
While shooting is his biggest strength, Beverly is more than just a spot up shooter. He’s capable of operating as a secondary ball handler and making plays when needed. Although he’s not typically tasked with running an offence, he can help keep the ball moving and contribute within a team system.
Beverly’s biggest area for improvement is his game to game consistency. He’s shown that he can take over stretches of a game with his perimeter shooting, but there are also nights when he struggles to find that same rhythm. Finding a way to produce more consistently from beyond the arc will be an important step in his development.
Beverly has the potential to become a valuable perimeter scoring guard at the U SPORTS level, bringing strong shooting ability and floor spacing to a university program. His ability to stretch the floor, move without the ball, and create opportunities for teammates through his shooting threat could make him a strong fit alongside more ball dominant guards. As he continues developing his consistency, he’ll have an opportunity to establish himself as a reliable perimeter option for a university program.
As Beverly moves through his senior season, he’s a prospect U SPORTS coaches should be keeping a close eye on. Shooting remains one of the most valuable skills in basketball, and Beverly has already shown the ability to make shots at a high volume against Canada’s top competition. If he can build on his early season production and become more consistent from game to game, he could prove to be a valuable addition to a university roster. For programs looking to add perimeter shooting to their future recruiting classes, Elliott Beverly is a name worth knowing.
