Briar Ricci plays a head taller than the tape measure says, and Basketball Alberta noticed before anybody else did. The Edmonton guard built his name at Harry Ainley and inside Genesis' 15u (EYCL) program, two environments that don't hand out minutes to players who can't handle pressure, and he's handled his share. At 5'11", Ricci isn't winning on length -- he's winning on quickness, competitiveness, and the kind of relentless motor that makes a smaller guard somebody coaches trust in the biggest moments. That trust got validated with a Team Alberta 15u call-up, the province's own stamp that the game translates beyond club ball. The frame means his long-term outlook still needs to answer a few questions, but the floor game, the pedigree, and the province-level buy-in are already real. File him as an undersized initiator worth tracking as the body starts to catch up to the game.
