Scouting Report:

Jake Drew is one of Newfoundland and Labrador's top prospects in the 2028 class, and he doesn't look like anyone else on the floor. Shaggy hair, crafty, and effective in ways that don't always show up in a box score.

The calling card is his shooting. Drew can really shoot it, and he does it with unorthodox form. It isn't textbook, but the ball goes in, and that's what matters.

Beyond the jumper, he's a creator. He generates offence and makes plays for his teammates, which is why we pegged him as a leadership piece for Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2026 U17 National Championship. Stylistically, he's a Newfoundland version of Raymond Felton or Andre Miller in build and play style, with a more recent flavour of Brayden Smith, formerly of Purdue. That's a style comparison, not a talent one. Smith is a notch above where Drew is today, but as a Three-Leaf prospect, Drew plays that same crafty, shot-making brand of basketball.

He also finishes well, with a great stretch finish in and around the rim.

As a 2028, this is his second-last year before the college level, so the next stretch of games will shape how his recruiting profile develops. He's a name to track for programs that value shooting, craft, and playmaking.
