A 6'1 point guard who splits his life between two countries, Mateo Vigneault runs the show for a pro club in Chalon-sur-Saône while still representing Canada whenever the phone rings. Canada Basketball didn't invite him to the 2026 U18 Men's National Team Selection Camp in Toronto because they needed a body in the gym -- that's a real vote of confidence for a guard already getting reps in a professional system overseas. Playing meaningful minutes at that level at his age says his handle and his feel are already ahead of most of the 2027 class he'll eventually be measured against. The dual-track path -- club reps in France, national-team looks with Canada -- is an unusual one, and it tends to accelerate a young guard's processing faster than a normal high school schedule would. Worth tracking closely as more of his club tape and camp performance surfaces.
