Dime Sessions Recap: Peace Country Prep 69, Mountaineers Blue 66
Peace Country Prep 69, Mountaineers Blue 66
Two teams. Zero wins between them. Somebody had to break the seal.
Peace Country Prep and Mountaineers Blue both walked into Dime Sessions on October 23 at 0-3 from the September run, and by the time the horn sounded it was Peace Country walking out with the first win of its Dime season, 69-66.
Mountaineers Blue looked like the team that would end the drought. They led 17-15 after one and stretched it to 38-29 at the half, with Arshdeep Saran (6'3) working through a big first half and Gabriel Eaton (6'3) already finding his rhythm.
Then the third quarter happened. Peace Country outscored Mountaineers Blue 24-11, and Edmonton's Maker Ater (6'6) led the charge. The 6'6 forward finished with 20 points. Evan Anderson, also out of Edmonton, and Ethan Miller both reached double figures, and Sowka Tombe added a pair of free throws and a pair of buckets in the fourth to help close it out.
Mountaineers Blue didn't go quietly. Eaton scored 10 of his team's 17 fourth-quarter points and finished with 20, and Saran added 14. Isaac Maddozza-Tou, Jordan Redoblado and Leslie Mabiza kept the supporting cast on the board. It wasn't enough to erase the gap.
